The Taj Mahal in Agra, India was built from about 1631 to 1653. More than 20 thousand workers were employed for its construction. Taj Mahal is a perfect blend of different artistic styles like of Hindu, Persian, Moghul and Islamic. The Taj Mahal is constructed by the river Jamuna in Agra. Taj Mahal is built on a vast location that stretches for near about 42 acres. A mosque, a guesthouse and many palace-like structures are located in the same complex.

The height of the central dome of this magnificent structure is 213 feet and its diameter is about 58 feet. It also has 4 beautiful minarets. The intricate designs on the inside and outside walls of the structure are made with calligraphy and floral designs.

These designs are beautified with semi-precious gems like jasper and agate. Passages from Holy Quran are chiseled on the main archways of Taj Mahal. There are 2 chamber rooms in this building. A whisper from one corner of these chamber rooms can be heard from the other side.

The word Taj Mahal means Crown Palace. It is constructed with white marble and its splendid beauty is unsurpassed through out the ages. Especially during the sun rise and sun set the beauty of Taj Mahal by river Jamuna enhances manifold. On full moon nights the beauty of the monument is simply fascinating.
