About 3 km from Nainital is the famous temple of Lord Hanumanji. One can view the magnificent sun set from here. This temple is a hot tourist attraction for a splendid architecture of the temple built here. It is in the shape of a four-sided fort with circular bastions at each corner. The manner in which this temple has been carved out is mesmerizing. One has to take the curved flight of stairs to reach this spot that is said to be once inhabited by Lord Hanuman. Lord Hanuman was the escort and guard of Lord Rama during and after his campaign against Lanka.

Also known as Dorothy's seat in memory of an English lady Mrs. Kellet Dorothy, who was killed in an air crash, Tiffin top is a short trek of about 3 km from Nainital and provides excellent view of the Himalayas and the town. The road to this picnic spot crawls along the rugged hill side swaying this way & that, and than all in one breadth in hushed silence suddenly unfolds a canvas on which nature has painted this beautiful spot.
