Climate

Nainital, owing to its location, is colder than the rest of the hilly tract of Kumaon region. During monsoon, it gets heavy rainfall. The climate therefore, is damp. During rainy season, Nainital gets a very heavy rainfall & the scenic beauty of this rainfall behind the hills gives an eternal pleasure & soothing. It is interesting to know that Nainital was founded in 1841 by Mr. P. Barron a European merchant and an enthusiastic hunter from Rosa, near Shahjahanpur.
