The SGPC headquarters are located in a hall called “Teja Singh Samundri Hall” near the Harmandir Sahib. These headquarters are a source of extremely important & valuable information on Sikhism, their commandments, teachings, preaching, any information regarding the past & present of “Golden Temple” and any relevant information regarding the city “Amritsar”. People in these offices are always ready to help & guide authentically. The Central Sikh Museum preserves an invaluable collection of the paintings of Sikh Gurus, Saints, Sikh Warriors & other Sikh leaders who laid the foundation and immensely contributed to the enhancement of this religion with their consistently dedicated efforts.
Amritsar the residence of “Golden Temple” is an extremely pious city with clear-hearted, friendly, co-operative, helpful & enthusiastic people. People in this part of the world are very hard working and they evenly contribute to the developments of their city. The chants of prayers from the “Gurdwara” fill the environment with clarity and an eternal peace. This city is one of the major establishments of Sikh religion where prominent Sikh governing bodies & committees can be found. Also known as a major trade center, as far as revenues are concerned, Amritsar contributes a respectable part in the development of the nation as well.
There are a lot of historical Gurdwaras surrounding the “Golden Temple” where it is preached that the primary goal of mankind is to lead a good & healthy life and that must also be done in congregation (Sangat). Hence, millions of people gather at the temple every day, every year and offer their prayers together, unanimously. Like the “Golden Temple”, many Gurdwaras in Amritsar have a pool where one can take a bath but an important thing which Sikhism expects its followers to understand is one can bath in these pools if they wish, but they should be pure inside in order to accomplish anything. The pool water which is considered to be as nectar, an elixir may clean you on the outside, but it cannot clean you on the inside if your heart is not pure.
