Some noted tourist attractions that travelers should not miss on their visit to Shirdi are:

Dwarkamai

At Dwarkamai devotees can see a beautiful oil painting of Sai Baba. A Palkhi and a chariot are also preserved in the rooms of Dwarkamai. A small temple has also been constructed in this building. Devotees traveling to Shirdi should visit the holy place of Dwarkamai.

Samadhi Mandir of Shri Sai Baba

In Shirdi, one will get to visit the famous Samadhi Mandir of Shri Sai Baba. Once this temple belonged to a devotee of Sai named Shreemant Gopalrao. But later the temple came to be known as the Samadhi Mandir of Baba.

In the temple, the Samadhi of Sai Baba has been built with white marble. The railing of the Samadhi is well decorated and is also built of marble. The statue of Sai Baba is sculptured from Italian marble and it was put up in the temple in 1954. Sai Baba in the marble statue has been depicted as sitting on a throne. A graceful silver umbrella is placed over this statue. Inside the temple, pictures depicting Sai Baba’s life have been put up.

At 5 in the morning, a song known as Bhoopali is sung at the Samadhi Mandir of Shri Sai Baba in Shirdi. At 10 pm the temple is closed with another song known as the Shejarati. On certain occasions like Dassera, Gurupoornima and Ramnavmi the Samadhi Mandir of Shri Sai Baba remains open throughout the night. On Thursdays, a procession is taken out with Sai Baba’s photo and a Palakhi.

Chavadi

On Thursdays, a procession in memory of Shirdi Sai Baba is arranged from Chavadi. This place is also closely associated with Sai Baba. It is said that he took rest at this particular place after he came from a procession that was carried on from Dwarkamai to Chawadi.

Maruti temple

The Maruti Temple was often visited by Shirdi Sai Baba. On his arrival to this temple, religious sermons were practiced here. Devidas was a famous young devotee of Sai Baba, who took initiative to arrange these sermons.

Gurusthan

It is at this very place where Shirdi Sai Baba undertook meditation under a Neem tree and began to lead a life of an ascetic while his stay in Shirdi. Followers of Sai Baba can also visit the small shrine located at this tourist spot.

Lendi Baug

Every day Sai Baba used to visit the garden of Lendi Baug and watered its plants. This famous garden houses a deepgriha where a lamp has been kept burning in a glass box.

AbdulBaba was a renowned devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba. He was closely associated with him. The memorial of AbdulBaba is one of the noted tourist attractions in Shirdi.

Festivals Celebrated at Shirdi

Many festivals are held in Shirdi around the year. Tourists can visit Shirdi during the celebration of these events. There are three significant festivals that attract a number of devotees to Shirdi. The festivals are mainly – Ramanavami, observed in March or April; Vijayadashmi, held during October and Gurupurnima that is observed in July.
