Paltan Bazar railway station is an important railhead of this part of India. Numerous trains from other parts of India ply to this railhead. From Paltan Bazar direct trains to Kolkata and Mumbai are available. Other Indian cities like Kochi, Bangalore, Chennai, Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram can also be reached from this part of Assam.

By Road

Regular bus services are available from Tezpur, Silchar, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Siliguri, Itanagar, Barpetta Road, Cooch Behar, Aizwal and nearby cities to reach Guwahati. For intercity transportation, traveling by bus is a good option in Guwahati.
